Ouch…

I know a lot of you are going to home in on panel 3. I very purposely worded that confusingly. Could Emily have realistically taken anything from that? She’s a smart girl and all, but she’s an emotional mess at the moment and clearly has a lot of things on her mind. Speaking of which, she’s been getting cut off a lot here. It seems like she has something important to say, but couldn’t get a word in. There’s been some interesting guesses already, but I wonder what the truth is.

I’ll be happy to hear thoughts on Chase as well. Is he justified in all this, or is he just a jerkwad?

Guys, keep in mind that we're seeing this right after a comic page designed to make her look sympathetic. From Chase's point of view, he dated a girl that he thought was nice and mature only to have her turn out to be a brat. She dumped him over some pretty stupid reason. Then, she calls on Christmas and sounds like she's begging him to come back. He has to handle that with his new girlfriend in earshot. You'd be hard pressed to find that many guys that would react differently than Chase under the circumstances.

Point taken, but it's hard for me to be sympathetic towards a man who dumps his fiancee for a girl half his age and passes alcohol to minors because he's bored.

Possible that he had an idea from her trying to say something two times that it could be something bad..... or pregnant, and made sure she didnt get it out. Since he has the new girlfriend over and all.

I don't think Emily would of got it. It took me a minute to figure out "sister or brother or... whatever" referred to Rain, and not the person she reminded Chase of, and I'm not an emotional mess. She might conclude Rain has some connection to Chase and thus reduce her recent amicability, but I can't see her realizing Rain is trans.

Okay now that I've found out how old Chase is, I really have no sympathy for him. Maybe he thought Emily was mature, but at the end of the day she's 17, he shouldn't be getting pissy at her really. Even if she acted like a bit of a brat, she is only a kid still really.

Well he is a jerk, but at the same time he is also right that she should move on from him even if she is as some are guessing pregnant. But she should tell him if she is pregnant because that would put a damper in his spirits haha. But now I wonder when we will find out what she is trying to say.

Chase may have been a bit blunt, but I think he should have at least hear out Emily, could be important, but I don't know on that. His anger may have been a bit justified, but hearing he called off an engagement with Kellen and then calling the family "crazy-ass".. I might call him a jerk then, and also for not letting Emily say anything important
